Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr.

Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr. received his education from the University Of Mississippi School Of Law.  Since then, Judge Pickering has served in many realms.  From 1964 until 1968, he was the Prosecuting Attorney for Jones County, Mississippi.  He served as Prosecuting Attorney and Municipal Judge of the city of Laurel, Mississippi in both 1963 and 1968.  Judge Pickering was elected to the Mississippi State Senate in 1972 and served in this position until 1980.  During that time, he was the chairman for the Republican Party in Mississippi (1976-1978), and he was the Republican nominee for Mississippi Attorney General in 1979.  Judge Pickering served as United States District Judge for the Southern District of Mississippi from 1990 until 2004, and in 2004 he was Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

 Mark your calendars for YBL’s first banquet for 2007.  Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr. will be our speaker for the banquet on Monday, April 23.  The banquet will take place at the Hilton Hotel on County Line Road from 11:30am until about 1:00pm.  Lunch will be served.  Tickets will be $20.00 per person or $150 for a table of eight. 

You may start making reservations at any time.  A sponsorship for this event is $1500 and includes a choice table for eight with your company or personal name on the table and recognition in all of our publicity of the event including the official invitation.  If you’d like more information about sponsoring YBL’s banquet, please email or call me.
