Our
distinguished speaker will be
John F. Croyle
former Alabama defensive end and member
of the 1973 National Championship team under Bear Bryant.
John F. Croyle
is one of Alabama football’s most known players. As a
former defensive end for the University of Alabama, he and
his team won the National Championship in 1973 under Bear
Bryant. Upon graduation, John could have gone on to play
professional football, but God was calling him elsewhere.
Since age nineteen, Croyle had a passion for working with
children of all ages, especially troubled youths. Instead
of pursing a career in football, Croyle pressed on towards
his real dream, creating the best children’s home in
America. In 1974 that dream became a reality. Big Oak
Ranch has been running effectively for over 30 years
touching the lives of children. The Ranch offers each child
a Christian home and environment, as well as education and
the tools they need for the rest of their lives. John’s
philosophy has always been “A hundred years from now it will
not matter what kind of house we lived in, the kind of car
we drove or how much money we had in the bank, but the world
may be different because you and I were important in the
life of a child.” Come and hear how this philosophy has
impacted his life.
